Serve in Ministry
This Lent we're exploring what it means to be a disciple and in this week's message we said: disciples serve. (If you missed this weekend's message, be sure to catch up here.) If you don't already serve in ministry at New Roads, fill out the form below to express interest in learning more about one of the six ministries below which we are focused on growing at the 10am Mass. (Can't serve at 10am? Need help? Just check the box that says "I need help figuring out how to serve" below.)
Greeting: Greeting is about creating a place where people feel welcomed, known, expected, and wanted here in our church. Greeters hold doors open as people enter, they smile, they set the atmosphere for our entire worship together. Greeting is a great ministry for families to do together.
Parking Ministry: This is a brand new and not yet launched ministry--a great chance to be part of starting something new. This isn’t only about helping direct people to open parking spots. Our parking ministry is primarily a very visible way to be a church that’s FOR our wider community, wordlessly communicating, “We’ve been expecting you. We’re waiting for you. We want you here!”
Information Team: Another ministry currently behind the scenes but launching soon. Once it gets going, the information team will be stationed at a desk or kiosk before and after Mass to answer questions about... Kids’ Church; or how to connect with us online; or any other question people may have! The whole idea is to help people who come to worship here become more connected at New Roads and to take their next step in discipleship.
Kids’ Church: Our Kids’ Church team invests in the next generation, specifically kids in grades K through 5, by creating an irresistible environment, a place kids want to go, to learn about God’s love for them.
Tiny Disciples: In Tiny Disciples we celebrate everything about who kids are in the toddler/preschool phase. Serve here and you are kids’ first idea of what it means to be welcomed into God’s family.
Tech Ministry: A behind the scenes role, a great fit for someone who’s super comfortable with a computer and has good attention to detail. The tech part is actually quite simple and high schoolers on up are totally capable of learning it. Our tech team is an extension of our worship team, helping people encounter God here in worship.
