New Roads Giving Principles
At New Roads, we believe that disciples give to their place of worship as an act of worship and so we like to offer the following 4 principles for giving based on the Bible and the teachings of Jesus.
- PLAN: Disciples give to God intentionally. The best way to make a plan for giving is to give automatically by giving online.
- PRIORITY: Jesus taught us to make giving our top priority when it comes to money, as an act of gratitude to God--aligning our hearts with the truth that all we have is a gift from God.
- PERCENTAGE: Scripture talks about the tithe or giving 10% back to God. Simply pick any percentage and start from there. We give a percentage because Jesus taught that we should give from our substance and not just from our surplus.
- PROGRESS: We want to be progressing in the amount we are giving as an act of trust -- each year trusting God more and more with the gifts he has given us.
