Sign up to serve at New Roads

If you are ready to sign up to serve at New Roads, there are 3 required steps in the process:
  1. CORI (background check) - All volunteers, staff, and contractors must complete a CORI through New Roads before beginning to serve--even if you've done one elsewhere. It takes 5 minutes and must be done in person with a photo ID. You can complete a CORI after any Sunday Mass (at the Info Desk at St. Joseph or sacristy at St. Luke) or at our office during the week. A CORI renewal is required annually in March/April. We'll remind you when it's time to renew!
  2. Volunteer Application Form - This one-time form includes agreeing to the Archdiocese's Code of Conduct. Fill out the form online here, or visit our office for a hard copy form.
  3. VIRTUS Training ("Protecting God's Children") - A one-time, 3-hour workshop required for all volunteers, staff, and contractors in the Archdiocese of Boston that helps adults recognize and respond to the signs of abuse. This workshop is only available in person, but is offered at many parishes throughout the Archdiocese and twice per year at New Roads. Those serving in children’s/youth ministry must complete this training within 30 days of starting to serve. All others must complete this training within 60 days of starting to serve. If you've already attended VIRTUS or have any questions, please email us at [email protected].

How to Register for VIRTUS:  (Please note that pre-registration is required.)
    1. Visit VIRTUS online.
    2. Select Boston, MA (Archdiocese).
    3. Create an account and sign up for any session of "Protecting God’s Children for Adults."

Once you've attended the training, please email us so we can update your record. Thank you for helping keep our church safe and welcoming!
