Pastoral Care Ministries

We extend God’s love and compassion to community members experiencing illness or loss through the ministry of pastoral care, including bereavement ministers and Eucharistic ministers to the homebound and hospitalized. If you are interested in serving as a pastoral care minister, please email [email protected].

Bereavement Ministers
When we receive notice of a death, a bereavement minister initiates contact with the person’s family and arranges to meet with them to offer support and to plan the funeral. Often that same team member attends the wake, leads the family in prayer, and attends the funeral Mass.

Eucharistic Ministers to the Homebound
Eucharistic ministers to the homebound bring communion and companionship on a regular basis, usually weekly.

Eucharistic Ministers at Belmont Manor
Eucharistic ministers at Belmont Manor bring communion and companionship to the residents each week.

Eucharistic Ministers at McLean Hospital
Eucharistic ministers at McLean Hospital bring communion and companionship to the residents each week on a rotating basis (each pair visits the hospital once per month).

Eucharistic Ministers at Mt. Auburn Hospital
Eucharistic ministers at Mt. Auburn Hospital bring communion and companionship to patients each week.
