Lent 2019 at New Roads
Lenten Message Series: A Way Forward
While churches across the country and around the world are on the decline, our vision is to be a church that is not just surviving, but thriving. Our vision is to be a church that is growing in love of God and neighbor and growing in number. But how do we get from here to there? In this Lenten series, A Way Forward, we will look at some of the key factors that are helping to rebuild our church. Join us for this series at the 10:00 a.m. or 5:30 p.m. Masses or follow along with the message videos on our Web site.
Lenten Faith Sharing Group
Our Creator God invites us to "Come back to Me with all your heart - don't let fear keep us apart." Join us on Friday nights during Lent, March 8 through April 12, where we break open the Gospel and invite God to enter our hearts and minds on a deeper level. We gather from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. in St. Luke Lower Church. All are welcome!
Lent Eucharist Adoration
Eucharist Adoration is held Fridays at 5:00 p.m. at St. Luke church.
Sunday Reflection Group
Join us for prayer and reflection in our weekly drop-in Scripture Reflection series. We meet on Sundays from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. at St. Joseph parish library in a relaxed, welcoming, small-group environment. We do not meet the night before a Monday holiday. All are welcome!
St. Luke Easter Giving Tree
The Easter Giving Tree is one way we can observe the call to Lenten almsgiving (donating money or goods to those in need). St. Luke's Easter Giving Tree for children in local shelters is in the back of St. Luke. Please take a tag on your way out of church. Each Easter bag (not basket) should contain an age appropriate book and any other treats or items you wish to add. All bags are due back under the tree with the selected gift tag attached on or before April 12. For security reasons all bags will be opened by Middlesex County Health and Human Services before distributing. We thank you in advance for remembering the children.
Sacrament of Reconciliation
Reconciliation is offered every Saturday from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at St. Luke church.
St. Luke St. Vincent de Paul Free Will Offerings
The offering at weekday masses at St. Luke during Lent are generously given to the St. Vincent de Paul Society of St. Luke’s Parish. During this time of year, the Society receives increased requests for assistance with housing, fuel oil, and utility bills. Any donation is appreciated.
